I Can See You Through Your Mask

I don’t believe in coincidence. In fact, I recently saw a post online that sums up my beliefs on the subject matter. It says, “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous,” and I couldn’t agree more. The thing is, while we may not always have the reasons as to why a given occurrence is taking place, we can account for the fact that it is taking place in existence. The moment is real, and chances are there’s some form of a lesson, intention, or purpose in the event’s manifestation. Today is Sunday, June 6, 2021. To you that might not … Continue reading I Can See You Through Your Mask

A Current Perspective On Reality

I am an expert in my own experience, that is what I can offer you. From what I have researched, where I have worked, the places I have volunteered, the things I have done and the places I have been, I have acquired knowledge and skill sets often with the intention of healing others. I am no expert on reality, but I can offer you the perspective of someone who has given it a lot of thought, both for interest purposes and for survival. Lately the media has had no choice but to report on many things it may not … Continue reading A Current Perspective On Reality

DAY 25: Happy New Year!

‘Twas the evening before 2021, and all throughout the world… ah fuck it, this shit is over!!!! 2020 was supposed to be a year of milestones for a lot of us, and it turned out to be a collective turning point for all of us. The famous “pivot” mantra had me thinking of athletics and dancing more than it did my lifestyle strategy. And if anything, I just got pushed deeper into my love for creative pursuits and passion for both human rights and mental health. 2020 was a year marked with struggle in different ways for all of us … Continue reading DAY 25: Happy New Year!

DAY 20: Peace of Mind With Taraji

I am officially 2/3 of the way through my 30 day challenge and I can tell you that I definitely notice a difference in my day-to-day routine thus far. Still, I will save the observations and conclusions for the end of the 30 days. When I have officially completed my goal. Tonight I wrote an article on my mental health website London Mind Fit about Taraji P. Henson’s new show on Facebook Watch called Peace of Mind With Taraji. I felt compelled to write the piece for a few reasons which I explain in detail throughout the article. I am … Continue reading DAY 20: Peace of Mind With Taraji

DAY 6: Dr. Thema Tweets

I do a lot of healing work in my own life. I do the inner healing work so that I can be effective and responsible with the outer healing work. It is a process and one that I am learning to be more and more patient with every single day. Somewhere along that journey, I came across a pool of wisdom also known as “Dr. Thema’s Twitter” and began devouring the “twitt-erature” in front of me. It was literally prose in short form text that often could paint an entire image of my life in one tweet with one strong … Continue reading DAY 6: Dr. Thema Tweets

DAY 4: International Human Rights Day

Today is International Human Rights Day. To me, this day is a version of Christmas without the gifts and eggnog. Instead, in the early hours of the morning, I found myself sipping tea and watching one of my favourite professors Dr. Saladin Meckled-Garcia give a lecture on genocide denial. With specific focus on Holocaust denial, Dr. Meckled-Garcia speaks on this controversial but important topic in his UCL Lunch Hour Lecture. When I was a student of Dr. Meckled-Garcia’s, I had the privilege of attending his lectures and reaped the benefits of his expansive inquiring mind. I would encourage you to … Continue reading DAY 4: International Human Rights Day

DAY 2: Embracing Your Own “New Normal”

Every day or so, it is common to hear the phrase the “new normal” thrown around in conversation. The “new normal” is like this mythological creature of the future filled with uncertainty and imagination. We are starting to see the implementation of rules worldwide that may constitute what the “new normal” looks like, but still it is hard to say, given that we are still mid-pandemic. Embracing your own “new normal” versus the collective “new normal” as dictated by society is pivotal to your mental health. Caution against using others comparatively as a measure for who you are supposed to … Continue reading DAY 2: Embracing Your Own “New Normal”
